CONFUCIUS

CONFUCIUS

What Is There to Fear?

If you look into your own heart,
and you find nothing wrong there,
what is there to worry about?
What is there to fear?

– Confucius

When my heart is full or when it is broken
I heed these words by Confucius spoken
It is more important to look within
Deep beneath mortal bones and skin
To a place where fear cannot be woken.

When my mind is troubled by the day-to-day
Problems and negative energy sent my way
I look into my heart and ask it dear
Does fear and worry belong in here?
No, says my soul, fear can no longer stay.

When my soul is troubled or sorrow near
I return to my heart so that I may be clear
Within my core if nothing be wrong
My spirit doth sing an inspiring song
Truly, my love, there is nothing to fear.

A poem by EJA (a poetic reflection of Confucius’ important message)
