O how thy acquaintance mine heart hath moved,
Though set in the past tis our future bright
Our blood of the same hath surely proved,
That love’s power doth profoundly unite
Wisdom and beauty of soul speak volumes,
And pleased be I receiver of thine post
For in kindness of word all hope resumes,
Which speaks loudly of thy truth innermost
My father, your brother hath gone ahead;
Henceforth, his spirit doth amidst us smile,
Weaving us together with golden thread.
Such pleasure they bring when they stay awhile
As angels do with mighty wings outspread;
For love knows love tis all that need be said.
(Dedicated to my aunt Mae Ewert, sister of my father Jack Baker)
