EJA

EJA

Sonnet XLV

Mine only love, how I so long for thee;

That every facet of my being quakes.

Heav’ns light shines upon thee eternally,

As lifegiving balm gently soothes heartaches.

Immeasurable purity and charm,

Thine lustrous allure exudes life’s wonder,

In a land where fantasy thee disarm,

And inspirited revelry ponder.

To think with mine heart tis honeycombed bliss;

A slave to divine savor’d pleasure,

Where bees taste the bloom of thine ardent kiss;

And hold thee close and symmetry measure,

For thine soul’s worth tis mine revered treasure,

So raise the strain and be all my pleasure.
