Help me understand this bold injustice,
That all my senses ruminate the cost
When affections gift failed to trust us,
And in that doubt all sacred moments lost.
Mislaid intentions defeat alchemy,
Where action and reaction roll the dice
Detained on charges of blasphemy,
In cathedrals of heart, that paid the price.
Every jewel in that crown so tarnished,
By inexorable fees waged in tears
Moaning aspirations left ungarnished,
Throwing a wrench in love’s advancing years,
While losing virtue grinding through the gears,
Where grave injustice plays upon our fears.
