EJA

EJA

Sonnet CXXXVI

Those pools of blue opened by heaven’s door

Light peering across the annals of time,

Sought by languishing sadness seeking more,

Rooted in hope as love’s great oak did climb.

Skyward giving way greets the gentle dawn,

Where mercy defies all fragment of doubt,

Through forests dark away the tender fawn;

Beholding gold beyond what realms do tout

Oh, placid day chart mine course abounding,

Follow not night for rancor doth stumble;

May choirs intone divine aire resounding,

As gymnast makes dance my heart doth tumble,

And dispel hate from whence it e’er rumble;

Save me by thine azure gaze so humble.
