EJA

EJA

Sonnet CLXXIII

From highest heavens harmony doth soar,
That below azure seas softly glimmer,
And summon spirit powers by the shore, valued
To sweeten life when sunlight grows dimmer.

How fair, feathered sire, regal amid clouds,
Burn oh brightest flame, cleanse my flagging soul,
Ascending above threadbare mortal shrouds,
Within thine eyes, mine heart a newborn foal.

Thou art now the Sun’s noble messenger,
And beauty’s sacred star proudly singing,
Amid the rays a daylight reveller,
While floating amid golden skies clinging.
King of the world, set the new dawn ringing,
And guide my life’s path, prized safety bringing.
