EJA

EJA

Sonnet CLXXXIV

At daybreak, I heard an angel’s voice near,
Her voice known, a Germanic lilted tone
Gone beyond, to where there is no more fear,
Born of God for this life was just on loan.

So I asked on high “Why dear Inge, Lord?”
In a tender whisper of love He said,
Such righteous beauty, can ne’er be ignored
A rock in life, of faith and family bred

“She who is foremost” name given at birth
Found pleasure serving a luscious cuisine,
To sweeten life for many on this Earth
Such delicious fair one hath never seen:
Her life, a gift; humility we glean,
Our love for Inge, growing evergreen.
