EJA

EJA

Sonnet CLXXXIX

Ah me! What luminous starry-eyed hue,
Questioning sanity’s instinct within,
Where lucidity turns electric blue,
And eclipse of heart hath lured thee in!

O, be not disheartened o’er unknown woes!
Stained glass cheeks bearing crystal tears,

That by anguished intention overflows,
Quelling my discomfort placating fears.

Be it brighter then still, living to give,
Burdened no longer by daunted dreaming,
Where violet-shadowed thoughts no longer live,
Cleansed by sunlit rays through thy pores streaming;
By such blaze, onward more freely teeming
Thy blues transposed into hymns redeeming.
