EJA

EJA

Sonnet CXXXII

Fair lady, I thee hail with fond regard

A feast to grace that melody inspire

That such beauty named by this humble bard

Would sweetly urge the heavens to conspire

Ingrid, beautiful, beloved, spirit

For they in thee a thousand notes be sung

Let drum and string play for all to hear it

And toast to thine beauty forever young

Lift upward thine noble discerning gaze

A life filled with splendor may thee consume

To the Northern Lights this tribute raise

As Sweden’s daughter hath found her groom

A love made from stars and fragrant perfume

Thine legacy be bright, oh, sweet the bloom!

Dedicated to Ingrid Kidd Goldfarb
On the Anniversary of Her Birth
