EJA

EJA

Sonnet CXXXIV

Lo! as winds dance in the nocturnal sky;

Feathers float upon waves of travesty,

Behold mem’ries that love cannot deny,

Setting the Sun in noble honesty.

The infant heart beats in cadence e’er pure;

Whilst jaded Mandarins troll open seas,

Neglecting all for that which may endure,

Turning care to dust breaking what may please.

So rise up, and bear mine sweetness lowly,

Whilst lips upon mine own meekly tremble;

A lamp catching flame adores thee wholly,

An instrument enlightened resemble.

As hearts afire quake and mountains rumble,

That love holds firm as new life assemble.
