EJA

EJA

Sonnet CXLII

Plentiful joy in thine eyes appearing,
Morning’s child owning the day enlightened,
As mine heart unto thee gently nearing,
Found contentment in thine concern heightened.
Calm and beholden to a higher call,
Thine soul mine youth did’st so gallantly guide;
Upon tremulous wat’ry depths did fall,
Mine fear dispelled as faith’s bid plunged the tide.
Soaring upward, mine reach the surface found,
A heady lease lifting toward ancient star,
This hero’s flair to soar from solid ground,
New desire burning to a strummed guitar,
Igniting fortune’s blaze to sorrow’d scar,
Forged by gold-quilled pen of a knight’s memoir.
