EJA

EJA

Sonnet CXLVII

As bright as dawn’s morning light revealest,

Thou in thine own countenance wisdom grow.

Far beyond yon azure skies entreatest,

Beauty’s freshness upon mine heart bestow.

Unlimited bounty born of the stars,

Wherein love’s myst’ries art fully endow’d,

Unveiled in the barren shadows of Mars,

Reborn as Nature’s increase hath allow’d.

Your servant bathed in thine adoring gaze,

Clothed in axioms of honey golden,

O’erflowing rays of hope mine spirit raise,

Upon angel’s wings ‘fore thee beholden.

Windsong to thy eternal flame embolden,

For days so pure art born of tears olden.
