Those witty dogs that gaiety consumes,
Attend mine heart when absence comes to light,
Thine amity jests where wounds once filled rooms,
Where redemption tis a glorious sight.
Gentle soul thy gaze therefore to be gained,
Loyal thou art, befitting an age regaled;
Where charmed delight upon this servant rained,
And glee swelled thy mirthful vigor unveiled.
Ay me! Such frolicsome waggishness seek,
That jocund and fair thy rosebud of youth,
Who clenches mine heart with playfulness meek
Where perfume denies all tales of untruth,
Thy voice resounding in temptations tooth,
And playful quest, reveals no better sleuth.
