EJA

EJA

Sonnet XXVIII

Happy me that looks on life as a child

To see thee lively in fantasy crowned

So I, made to love upon life hath smiled

Jesting at court in this kingdom playground

Thee, in thy beauty, and lovely compare

Making music with magic harp of dreams

Give voice make melody sweetness the air

And on thy face shimmer golden sunbeams

Such gives this life felicity and form

Lustrous and pure in rare auroral sky

Love, be thy servant, mine heart inform

And carry me onward so death defy

Look, see my heart, that heart that say’th goodbye

Will love thee always fair-winged butterfly.
