EJA

EJA

Sonnet XXVII

Let me affirm that angels speak of love;

That brave soul’s hearts may again reunite

For veiled clouds invoke the heav’ns above,

Like the sun and moon cast out doubt with light

When loneliness borrows the noble heart,

And spirit walks upon dimmed skies of gray

Hear my heart sing from lofty rampart,

Bringing forth the courage to seize the day

I will acknowledge thee till time doth end

Seeing true beauty in shape and shadow,

Where stars do dance and clouding song transcend

For winds do chime away the grief held low

And mountain joys ascend rapt’rous plateau

For I hear thy voice in mists that billow.
