EJA

EJA

Sonnet XXXVII

To the day thine eye in mine did transpire,

All that I pray tell conceived twas happ’ning

And being without fear did I thee desire

For in that giv’n have I giv’n thee reeling

Love, thou wast ne’er mine, and by chance I thine

Nay! thou can’st ne’er impact heart’s sinew deep

For love freely giv’n tis love thou can’st define

And affection won in time doth ne’er weep

Each day love takes root deepest at the core,

Falling from night sky and stars in retreat

Deeper than deepest seas crash sandy shore;

Though you ne’er knew how much I loved thee sweet

Thine hand meeting mine did such bliss outpour

To hold thine mind’s fancy dear evermore.
