EJA

EJA

Sonnet LXXIV

Of that which I truly love, I love thee;

More than a windswept current pelt the shore

Fast as newborn turtle swims back to sea,

Where they meet in perfect dawn once more.

In this blaze of propriety hearts sing;

Songs of an incandescent symphony

Of Aqua-blue-green crests undulating,

As bubbles meet sky in matrimony.

Innocent the world spins in better course;

As golden light pierces the water’s edge

So doth the life that lives in love’s discourse,

And in sea depths where brokenness might dredge,

Find thee, in the dark, where lovers path swim,

An onward course that fills hearts to the brim.
