EJA

EJA

Sonnet LXXVI

Glory! Thou art the sunlight to my day,

And in sorrow’s night thou mak’st stars to shine:

The laughter issuing tis mine gateway;

This union in eternal love combine.

So how long must I wait to see thy face,

And in thine eyes gather all such riches?

For diamonds fair can ne’er lose favored grace,
Dancing in blushed sky that heart bewitches.
Of thine own have thee given without cause

Though undeserving, thou doth raise me up;

So our love robust, the coldest heart thaws,

And comes to me again, and fills my cup.

Thus, for now, I dream of thee in mind’s eye,

Till I see thee again in purple sky.
