EJA

Sonnet CXI

Yes, Love, thou art worthily in command:

Thine beauteous form hath risen upward

To be that angel in emotion’s hand;

Thou art but harmony expressed inward.

When heav’n ‘twas built, and therein designed

Where mortals found sanctity it is told,

And celestial beings ne’er resigned

Bringing loved-ones lost from out of the cold.

Such renderings are to thee revealing,

Not clandestine nor covert, only truth,

For without the dream life tis concealing,

The sanctity of death ‘tis the purity of youth.

So live thine time in verity and love;

Lift upward thine gaze to new life above.
