EJA

Sonnet CXIX

As firm as thou wilt hear, the faint note dyest

For loss, o’er time, reveals character deep;

And that which doth as hero’s spirit mov’st

Tis the melody that makest mine heart leap.

Sentient and awakened truths impart,

Within light, glory, love and warmth uplift;

Endless rhyme and rhythm that soothes the heart,

That sets life’s worn-out weariness adrift.

Where passion’d poppies verve hath grown within,

And healing promise that once did perish,

Hath returned such bountiful gifts now giv’n.

That earnest hope revisited cherish,

And free thyself of all fear nightmarish,

Accepting life’s bloom with nothing garish.
