EJA

Sonnet CXXI

Reverie doth thoughtful stupor evoke,

Where delusion’s fancy tis failed musing,

And peaked mountain’s luminous vision provoke,

As mind’s window unveils fear confusing.

Steadily ascend the clambering slope,

And bargain not with gross absurdity;

One footstep takes stride baring hearts that cope,

Rising to summit’s brave enormity.

When the edge for eminence tis thy quest,

And compassion that sparks a raging fire,

For blazing spirit within heart invest,

Till fabric of soul can build an empire.

So illumine, glow, and flair with desire,

And royal be the king such hearts inspire.
